Lis Evans
Lis Trained at Cardiff Art College and Trent Polytechnic, graduating in 1987. Her first professional design was for Circus Senso's Christmas show at Hackney Empire.
As Head of Design at the New Vic Theatre Newcastle under Lyme Lis has designed over 120 shows including Sweeney Todd, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Translations, The Cherry Orchard,Top Girls,Playhouse Creatures,Pitmen Painters,I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire and The Jolly Potters. Costume design for Dracula, Wind in the Willows, Snow Queen [UK Theatre Award] 101 Dalmatians, The Borrowers and Treasure Island. Tours with Bolton Octagon Mikado, Rafta Rafta, and Alfie. With Northern Broadsides Romeo and Juliet,The Tempest,Hamlet, Canterbury Tales, Vacuum, An August BankHoliday Lark and Much Ado About Nothing. Lis has contributed to the National Life Stories collection for the British Library sound archive.

Playhouse Creatures
Through a script centred design process and extensive period research we created an environment that represented a "Den of defilement...a pit of pestilence...filth, smut and scandalous entertainment" and "lovely dresses".
The large gilded mirror above the stage reflected the tarnished vanity of the play.
